COVID-19 Guidelines

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be following strict guidelines in order to protect the safety of clients and staff. These guidelines will be used in conjunction with the Health & Safety & Sanitation rules we already have in place to carry out our treatments. Caroline has completed an ITEC Level 2 in Infections Protection (COVID 19) for beaty therapy as well as the continued practice of safe infection control measures beyond the standard practice.

As part of the pre- forms you are required to submit, we will ask questions relating to your general health specific to COVID 19. Such as – have you had a cough? a fever and or/temperature?  Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?

If the answer if yes, and you are thought to be at risk of having covid we will reschedule your appointment for a later date.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

Wearing masks – we will be required to wear masks at all times and will provide masks for clients to wear during their treatment(when applicable)

Gloves – We will wear disposable gloves when treating clients, no matter what the procedure. We will change gloves between each client as standard practice.

Apron – We will wear disposable aprons when treating clients and will change between each client.

Treatment bed and neck pillows – The treatment bed will be covered a disposable couch roll This will be changed after every client.

Hand-washing – We will wash hands with soapy, warm water, for a minimum of 20 seconds before and after every client service. We will ask our clients to also either wash their hands thoroughly before their treatment or we will provide alcohol hand gel.

DISINFECTION

Prior to reopening, the salon will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected including surfaces, tools.

All disinfectants used are EPA –registered and labelled as bactericidal, viricidal and fungicidal.

Disinfectant for immersion of tools will be mixed daily and replaced if it becomes contaminated throughout the workday. Typical contact time for immersion/sprays is 10 minutes, for disinfectant wipes is 2-4 minutes.

Disinfection is for hard non-porous surfaces, glass metal and plastic. These tools are reusable and will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly after each use and stored in an airtight closed container.

All other equipment that is one-use only will be discarded after each treatment.

RESTROOMS

ALL restroom surfaces including floors, sinks and toilet bowls will be cleaned and disinfected every day.

Antibacterial hand soap will be provided.
